Experience Summary
I am driven to learn as well as to teach. I have a BS in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences and an MA in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, both of which have afforded me great experience not only in the sciences but also in writing skills. Over the last 11 years, I have taught and tutored students from elementary-aged to adult in English, writing, science, math, and test prep.
Teaching Style
Everyone has a distinct learning style and attitude. I relish the opportunity to present subject matter to students in the precise manner that invokes that "eureka" moment where they finally achieve understanding of something that has frustrated, intimidated, or eluded them. I use humor and positive reinforcement to inspire confidence in my students. I believe that all people can learn, regardless of age or experience. They just need the proper guide.
