Teaching Style
Students learn best when they are engaged in an environment where they feel confident to express their individual personalities. Creating a community of learners in a classroom from the very first day of school is a key element to a positive learning environment. A mutual respect between the teacher and the students needs to be established and maintained throughout the school year. Learning requires an environment where students feel comfortable taking risks, sharing opinions, expressing areas of confusion, providing assistance to others, and communicating in a positive manner. When children know and feel that the classroom is a safe environment to express ideas and thoughts without fear of negative criticism their learning will flourish.
