Experience Summary
I obtained my BS in Business Management from Clemson University in August of 2009. During my time there I was a member of the Varsity Swimming team where I competed against world class athletes within the Atlantic Coast Conference. Balancing life as a student-athlete created a unique and challenging college experience for me. As well as athletic experience, I served as an Assistant to the Director of Community Relations at IPTAY Collegiate Club for 2 years. Within this position I was in charge of a variety of volunteer events for student-athletes, many of which involved tutoring and mentoring elementary aged children. I plan on beginning my pursuit of a MAT in Early Childhood Education this May at Kent State University.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is extremely hands-on. I have found through my coaching and swim lesson experience that I relate well to kids and by approaching the situation in a fun and friendly way I believe I reach the children more effectively. I have been extremely successful in teaching swim lessons and have helped beginners to reach elite athlete status. I employ the same tactics in the classroom and was a very successful mentor to troubled kids through the Be a T.I.G.E.R! program at Clemson University. My enthusiasm and creativity in teaching tactics help me to make the children understand the subject.
