Experience Summary
In grade school I was the kid to whom others turned for help. In high school I found myself tutoring my friends in subjects as diverse as plane geometry, algebra, latin, and essay writing. It was not until I was working to earn my BA in English literature and volunteering as composition tutor in the English department language lab, however, that I discovered the real joy for me of one on one instruction. Since those days I have co-authored, books and articles and helped edit and revise material for academic journals in addition to informal tutoring for friends and family.
Teaching Style
My job as tutor is not to lead students to learning, but rather to help them master the fundamental skills that will help them find their own unique paths. A Young mind cannot help but grow when stimulated in a setting that is both challenging and reassuring. I strive to create this through a patient, thorough method tailored in its pace and depth to the needs of the individual student. This is the advantage of one on one instruction, a special ooportunity for both student and teacher.
