Experience Summary
I have a BS degree and MS degree in Elementary Education with an emphisis in Reading. I have taught all grades from first through sixth and also remedial reading in grades nine through twelth. I have also had responsibility for an after school peer tutoring program.
I have a love for education and I especially enjoy students who have difficulty in learning. It is a joy to see the changes made when pupils discover that they can learn and that it is fun to learn.
Teaching Style
First, I try to find our the ways that the child learns best. I also want to know the student's interests. I test the child to see the level that the child can be successful. I start on a level that the child will realize that they can learn. Many forms of teaching is used so to facilitate faster learning and to provide interesting activities. This may include: flashcards,games and use of computers. An attempt to use a variety of material to help the child to adapt to various types of lesson in the school setting.
I am willing to try anything that will facilitate the child progressing as quickly as possible. I like to communicate with the family with suggestion of how to help their child at home.
