Experience Summary
Presently I am a Supplemental Faculty in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Delaware. I have taught courses in the areas of calculus, linear algebra and differential equations which has given me a very good feel to teach in different Mathematics areas. As I was a Teaching Assistant in Chemical Engineering while I was in graduate school, I can teach various chemistry related courses. For about eight years, at the Drexel Center for Learning and Instruction (DCLI), I was involved extensively in teaching students individually and in groups in the areas of mathematics and sciences. I had various opportunities for presenting research papers at Conferences which enhanced my interactive skills.
Teaching Style
I have simplified the text material so that students gain a better understanding of the subject matter. My presentation of the material was clear and I made good use of examples and illustrations. I feel it is important for a teacher to enjoy the sharing of knowledge and help people to expand their horizons. While general techniques, skills and methods are certainly important, the enthusiasm created by a teacher is an important characteristic to possess. Students have indicated that they have benefited from my enthusiasm for which I used various sources such as alternative textbooks and the Internet to cover relevant material in the class.
