Experience Summary
My passion for Chemistry and Science was driven me to earn a bachelor degree in Chemistry and Physics and teaching thereof. My career includes six years of teaching Physics and Chemistry from middle school to high school level in Romania. I managed advanced tutoring program for high school students whom sustained chemistry exams for baccalaureate diploma or medical schools. After moving to USA in 1999, I followed my passion to teaching and obtained the MI Provisional Teaching Certificate for Chemistry (Secondary education)and was involved as Science Olympiad volunteer coach at Davis Jr. High School, Utica Community Schools, regarding two topics: Environmental Chemistry and Experimental Design.
Teaching Style
In my seven years of teaching experience I tailored my teaching styles based on students capabilities to handle course demands. My one on one tutoring style will include first a discussion with the student about his/her learning style, future desired careers, why he/she needs a tutor, etc. and an evaluation of student’s level of knowledge. Then together will review the theoretical concepts which the student didn’t assimilate at school, after which the student will be able to approach complex applications and exercises. I strongly believe in opened and stress free dialog between tutor and student as equal and trustable partners in this process.
