Experience Summary
I graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor's degree in English and I recently earned a Master's degree in Creative Writing from Chatham University in Pittsburgh. While English, Creative Writing and Composition are my specialties, I also scored in the top percentiles in the SAT, GRE, and ACT.
I have taken my education and used it to gain experience in several diverse fields. I spent a year interning at the Smithsonian Museums in Washington D.C. I have served as a Publications and Editorial Assistant at "The Writer's Chronicle" and "Creative Nonfiction" both well-respected and nationally circulated magazines. In these magazines I offered feedback and responses to authors seeking publication.
Teaching Style
As a graduate of Duke University, I discovered new ways to unlock my own natural curiosity and translate it into qualifications and diplomas. I have successfully taught similar methods of achieving one's goals to friends and family when they have needed tutoring.
I have a great deal of volunteer experience of teaching one-on-one, but I have not yet officially tutored. I am passionate about communicating with individuals rather than classrooms. I am excited to teach motivated individuals who care about learning to achieve their own goals. Also, because I have three younger sisters, I have experienced the learning processes of many different individuals from many different perspectives.
