Experience Summary
I was employed with Everest University for over 8 years and during that time I taught as an adjunct instructor, in addition to working full time. The areas I taught: Anatomy & Physiology, medical terminology, medical insurance coding and billing, transcription, letter writing, business strategies, modular medical assisting classes, and Microsoft Word. I also tutored math, English and reading to students wanting to take the entrance exam for the school.
Teaching Style
I love teaching and working with children. The learning environment must be conducive to each student; to learn in their own manner. I am a natural teacher and teach children when they are with me. An example would be when driving, I continuously ask them questions about things we see or what we are doing, etc. This stimulates their thought process and makes them more inquisitive about their surroundings and how things work or what is the purpose. I incorporate into my lessons and utilize a hand on approach. I address all three learning styles: auditory, visual and kinesics in my lessons. All children given the correct skills, tools and knowledge can exceed their own expectations. I strive to make a difference in my student’s lives.
