Experience Summary
I earned my bachelor degree in literature because I love to read and want to share that love with my students. Five of my seven years of teaching have been in the middle school realm, with two years being in the capacity of a Reading Coach, which allowed me the flexibility of teaching children and adults in a classroom setting. I have taught using the Sunshine State Standards with focus on reading strategies which help students with comprehension and vocabulary. I have also taught writing skills/strategies to eighth grade students in preparation for FCAT testing. I have tutored students in a variety of subjects such as elementary mathematics, reading skills for social studies, science, and fiction, English, and organizational skills.
Teaching Style
I love teaching and working with all children. I also believe children learn in different ways, and I'm available to help your child find their way toward academic success. I am an easy-going and respectful person. I am a firm believer in teaching through a facilitator approach and in providing constructive guidance. My expectations for learning are set high for my students and believe they can achieve and even exceed this goal in an environment that is conducive to learning. It is my goal to make a difference in all of my students' lives.
