Experience Summary
I taught High School English for 5 years at Tempe High School in Arizona. I also coached the Girls' Tennis team and was Sophomore Sponsor. I taught Advanced College Prep Writing Classes, Honors Classes, and Grammar Classes for all High School levels. I have the CBEST Certification and have been a Substitute Teacher in the Sacramento Region.
Teaching Style
I believe all students are capable of writing well. Teaching takes a great deal of patience, enthusiasm, and a love for learning. I also believe all students are capable of loving to read--they just have to be introduced correctly. All of my students found enjoyment in reading. I initially found books they could relate, and that was the key. I was a very popular English Teacher (even with Shakespeare) because I truly loved my art and cared deeply about my students and their individual needs. Students know who really cares.
