Experience Summary
I graduated from Mount Union College in May 2006 with a BA in History and a double minor in Adoloescent to Young Adult Education and American Studies. Throughout high school I was a teacher's assistant helping with students in class during my study halls as well as working one on one with students for extra study skills. In the past few years I have tutored students in elemtary math, middle school reading and writing, and even my own students before and after school in social studies. I currently teach Civics and Economics which is an EOC course and I have taught this for 6 years now. Throughout those 6 years I have been able to successfully teach my students how to pass standardized tests and overcome testing anxiety.
Teaching Style
I love tutoring students because through my experience I have learned that one on one time can be really beneficial to all students. During this time I am able to really talk with students to figure out what their specific needs are. I can also help students learn specific study and reading skills. Through my experience, I have seen the most improvement with students when they have one on one time with their tutor or teacher.
