Experience Summary
While my experiences have encompassed many disciplines and languages, among them German and Russian, my education from Columbia University has provided me a strong background in the liberal arts and humanities. I have strong analytical, compositional and grammatical skills as a result of writing papers, participating in peer edits, and teaching grammar in an English as a Second Language program. In the past seven years, I have tutored basic GED subjects, taught English in both New York City and Yaroslavl, Russia, and excelled in my degree program, gaining a great deal of knowledge in many different subjects.
Teaching Style
My teaching experiences have had me in classrooms with age groups ranging from preschoolers to adults. I have been able to adapt my teaching style to suit every group and individual I have worked with, as I recognize the importance of an individualistic approach to education. As every individual learns in a different manner, one-on-one studying with an attentive and adaptive tutor can make a significant difference in a pupil’s performance. My goal is to adapt the learning tools that I possess to the needs of each student, thereby facilitating their excellence in their academic endeavors.
