Experience Summary
As a graduate in one of the top liberal arts colleges in the nation, I received an education that enhanced my skills as a writer, as a leader, and as a thinker. I worked as an assistant teacher for the Spanish department where I conducted speaking drills to improve the proficiency of Spanish for elementary level students. I also frequently led class discussions to garner confidence in speaking Spanish. During my senior year at Davidson College, I researched and wrote a thirty-five page thesis regarding the portrayal of women in two Latin American dictatorship novels. I currently work in the mental health field providing primary care and guidance to youths. I enjoy sharing with them the knowledge I have gained throughout my life.
Teaching Style
Working as an assistant teacher in Davidson College encouraged me to pursue a career in educating children. I currently work at Eliada Homes helping teach at-risk children the skills required to lead a successful life. I focus on details and I guide the students to develop a general understanding of the topic or material studied. I often use humor to animate interest and participation among the students. I am dedicated to teaching others, confident in my abilities, and patient during times of stress.
