Experience Summary
Since childhood, I have worked to help students improve their skills at reading, writing, public speaking or any other subject I could offer help with. In May, 2009, I received my BA in English, which allows me to assist with all English subjects, including writing, grammar, public speaking, and literature. I am also comfortable tutoring in Music Theory, Vocal Performance, and Basic Piano and am able to work with beginning French learners on grammar, vocabulary, and reading skills. I have worked as an undergraduate teaching assistant for a Sophomore-level writing class and helped students to improve their grade up to 18 percentage points. For the last five years, I have tutored in English, Music, and Beginning French.
Teaching Style
I enjoy teaching and working with students from age 4 through 40 and have worked with students throughout that range. I believe that patience, integrity and compassion are the best communicators to students, particularly in subjects they struggle with, and I believe that every student can succeed, if they are willing to make the effort. My goal is to adapt material and present information in the method the student can best understand and I strive for the flexibility to create a learning environment that is comfortable for each, individual learner. I am dedicated to providing the best possible learning experience for every student I work with, and to helping each student reach their full potential.
