Experience Summary
I'm a chemical engineer and tutor with a strong interest in education. My background includes extensive tutoring and mentoring experience over the last 8 years. I am motivated and patient with students who have trouble grasping mathematical concepts. I have worked with diverse groups of students ranging from third grade to high school and college students. My engineering experience gives me a wealth of applications from which to draw examples and explain how equations work.
Teaching Style
My approach encourages lots of practice and uses analogies and examples as frequently as necessary to get a particular point across. I am focused on making the subject matter both comprehensible and routine, with particular emphasis on checking answers and estimation. I will also make the most of technology to aid student understanding and encourage student interaction.
