Experience Summary
I entered college in my late twenties and have been involved in some aspect of learning ever since. I was able to complete my BA in Psychology and Religion as Cum Laude and my MA in Counseling Psychology with a similar GPA. Since graduating I have had the opportunity to work with children and adolescents in a counseling capacity which often mirrors mentoring, teaching and leading. I obviously have experience in psychology and religion. As well, I have extensive experience in writing for my career, assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, etc, and in school with the many research papers, summaries, reviews, etc. This has allowed me to hone my grammatical skills, comprehension and analytical skills.
Teaching Style
My experience working with children is in the area of those with mental health issues, most of which have learning disabilities as well. I love my work and I love children. I believe that all children can learn when you consider what kind of learner they are. I believe that most children have to experience learning through many facets; hearing, touching, seeing and discovery. I also believe that children need to be empowered to learn so that through daily activity their confidence and self-esteem is cultivated, nurtured so that potential can be met and possibly exceeded. I strive to assist individuals to meet and exceed their potential, build confidence and empower people to be autonomous.
