Experience Summary
My experience is very much what your child's experience could be. I was raised with limited financial resources by a single parent in the state of Florida. I found classroom lessons catered to the "typical student" difficult. Fortunately, I had some wonderful teachers and a parent who encouraged me to persevere and learn about myself. I earned a full scholarship to complete my Chemical Engineering Degree at a Florida university. I would be honored to help your student reach his or her potential in the areas of mathematics, computer sciences, or physical sciences.
Teaching Style
I believe that teaching is a process of helping students to discover their own learning potential. The learning experience is an adventure the parent, student, and I will embark on together. Each student has the ability to learn and excel through a process of building one's confidence, discovering one's learning style, and capitalizing on one's strengths. Our tutoring relationship will begin with a discussion of the goals of the learning experience. The result will be an empowered learner with increased academic performance, but more importantly, skills and confidence to continue learning in the future.
