Experience Summary
Having graduated from Appalachian State University in 2009 with a BSc. in Biology/Ecology, as well as an internship at the Mote Marine Laboratory in Sarasota, Florida, I've returned back to Asheville to find employment. I have had experience working with children and teenagers as a senior counselor at Cedars Camps for over 3 years as well a counselor for children at The Florida Aquarium. I have also worked for several years as the Teaching Assistant in Geology at both Principia College and Appalachian State University. I have extensive experience in writing research papers and lab reports and am especially detail-oriented and professional in my work.
Teaching Style
I love working with children as well as adults. I am very patient and understand the difficulties of school work. Not all children learn from the same style of teaching or at the same rate, and I believe that a dedicated teacher can make all the difference in a child's education. Because each child is different, I can modify my approach to fit the needs of the child in a fun, productive manner.
