Experience Summary
I have taught math from grades 8 to 12 in a public high school. As a professor, I taught statistics to undergraduates in two private universities (Case Western Reserve University and Dartmouth) for a total of twelve years, and biostatistics at the graduate level at Harvard and Dartmouth for 17 years.
I have tutored students privately in math, statistics, and computer science for over 30 years.
In addition, I have published two books plus dozens of applied research papers in the medical sciences which rely heavily on the application of statistics.
Teaching Style
I am a very patient person who has been called a natural teacher. I speak clearly and well. I can easily understand difficulties that students have with statistics and mathematics, and I am creative in devising appropriate techniques for mastering the subject matter. I very much enjoy teaching and my enthusiasm for my discipline is easily apparent.
