Experience Summary
I have extensive experience teaching students of all ages. I was a middle and high school math teacher, and have experience in curriculum development and teaching in Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Algebra II, and Geometry. I have lived abroad and speak Spanish fluently as well. In addition, I am familiar with the format and keys to success on standardized tests including the SAT and ACT, which I scored highly on as a student.
Teaching Style
I have taught in a variety of environments, from one-on-one to teaching a class of 37 eighth graders at once. I believe that having high expectations for students and exuding confidence in their abilities results in strengthening their own self-confidence and performance. My students have continually thanked me for my patience and willingness to explain concepts in different ways in order to suit their individual learning style. Teaching and tutoring are the most rewarding activities I have ever taken part in and I look forward to continuing to help students become proud of their abilities.
