Experience Summary
I studied biochemistry and worked in medicine before I received a BA in Business, where I graduated with Honors, a 4.0 GPA, and the Jan Walters Award in Economics. From there, I worked in law, spent a few months in Europe studying different cultures and languages, and obtained an MBA in International Business. Having held several middle and upper management positions, I have gained a wealth of business experience. I also write children’s books, enjoy reading, and am a leader and volunteer in the community. Over a 5 year period, I successfully tutored grade school through graduate level students in a variety of subjects (e.g., Calculus, Physics, Anatomy, Investing, History, Accounting, English, Statistics, and Business Law).
Teaching Style
While teaching, I take individual learning styles into account, enabling me to explain concepts in ways students can comprehend. By developing real-life examples and scenarios based on the interests of each person, it shows the student the value of learning the material and offers an exciting way to remember new information. We engage in interactive conversations that open up the young minds, stimulate creativity and problem solving skills, identify areas of weakness, build self-confidence, and teach students to become self-learners. For young children, I enjoy coming up with games, songs, and other creative ways to make learning fun! Regardless of where they start, I strive to make a positive impact in all of my students’ lives.
