Experience Summary
I began tutoring structures in college when approached by a member of the architecture faculty. I took on the added responsibility with the hope that, in addition to helping other students achieve success, I would attain a deeper and more holistic understanding of previously learned material. The courses for which I have been a tutor include elements of algebra, geometry, calculus, and physics. I tutored multiple structures courses for 3 years, and students showed high levels of success on their formal exams.
Teaching Style
Teaching is a very dynamic endeavor. As each student learns differently, it is inimitably important for the instructor to show versatility in his or her approach. I attempt to expose the student to a variety of learning methods so that the multiple exposure will have a lasting impression on what is learned. I always will challenge a student, and in time it is my goal that the students will gravitate towards these challenges. In that way, they are exceeding the previous expectations set out for them.
