Experience Summary
My education in a liberal arts college has allowed me to not only master an extensive range of subject matter from mathematics to science to humanities; but it has also allowed me to apply my knowledge in everyday situations. I have a BA in Chemistry and a BA in Environmental Studies. I grasp a wide range of physical science subject matter, as well as familiarity in public policy, currents issues, essay writing and critiquing, and research and analytical methods. During my college experience I assisted students in freshman and organic chemistry. I also helped develop and implement a laboratory course for non-science majors. These experiences allowed me to learn how to clearly and cohesively explain chemistry theory and applications.
Teaching Style
I believe in experiential learning, which means demonstrating a subject matter that is tailored to a students needs, and then applying it to real life situations. I am dedicated to covering and recovering material until a student feels comfortable and confident. I think all students should be able to understand basic chemical concepts and should not be intimidated be information of conversation that is scientifically inclined. Your student will benefit from my experience in chemistry as well as learn the necessary steps to becoming a well-rounded individual with the skills, habits, and attitudes needed to succeed in most courses.
