Experience Summary
I am a multidisciplinary-trained individual with comprehensive scientific background in mathematics, chemistry, biochemistry and molecular biology. Having obtained two advanced degrees, MS in Chemistry from Yale University and MS in Biotechnology from Georgetown University, I developed an extensive theoretical knowledge, demonstrated excellence in preparation of research papers and laboratory reports, and advanced my effective teaching, communication, and interpersonal skills. My tutoring career started back in high school when I volunteered to assist my peers with their mathematics and chemistry homework and prepare them for exams.
Teaching Style
My teaching maxim is that the ability to explain a concept to other people means you have truly understood it. Hence, after I have taught a concept to the student, I encourage him/her to explain it to me because I strongly believe that this approach facilitates knowledge acquisition. I am very convinced that engaging the student in discussions and asking relevant questions not only initiates an active learning experience, rather than just memorization of the material but also stimulates further interest in the subject. Furthermore, my personality is very energetic, friendly, and patient and I have been very passionate about teaching because it brings me great personal satisfaction to help others progress in their studies.
