Experience Summary
I received a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish with a minor in political science in 2009. I graduated Summa Cum Laude. I am now working on my Master's in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages).
I worked as an English tutor for international students at the University of Findlay from 2007-2009. I also tutored college students in Spanish in the fall of 2009. I have also tutored elementary school students in English.
I studied Spanish in Mexico and Arabic in Jordan. My strongest subjects are Spanish, English (writing, reading, grammar), and social studies (geography and government). I received a 28 on the ACT and I can help those who are preparing to take it except for the math and science portion of the exam.
Teaching Style
I like to teach by example and give the student the opportunity to learn by doing. I do not do the work for the student, but instead allow him or her to do the work with my support until he or she is capable of doing the work independently. I am patient and thorough with my work. I do not get angry and I do not act strict with students. I also believe that I can learn from them just as they can learn from me, and therefore I always give them to chance to communicate their thoughts and feelings to me.
