Experience Summary
At Miami Dade College ADA services, I tutored learning disabled college students in areas of algebra, social sciences, biology, English writing and comprehension for (2) years.
As an administrative manager I have trained hundreds of co-workers in software applications, to include Microsoft Office applications, Florida State HR Info System, NASA Incident Reporting Info System. I am also a trainer of required OSHA industrial safety procedures. I have developed and maintained NASA and USAF specific OSHA training programs and performed regular audit of such programs to ensure compliance with current standards.
Teaching Style
I subscribe to a comprehensive overview initially to provide a basic structural outline of course content and criteria for learning goals. Students can then "fill in" this overview outline as new content is introduced, with open discussion and query to gain additional insights. Daily affirmation of progress with focused discussion addressing areas of needing improvement to keep engaged with consistent monitoring. Assessments should be brief with subsequent feedback soon after testing. Keeping within the overview outline while working each course section will serve to assist in learning comprehension and retention while developing a long term knowledge of the overall course curriculum.
