Experience Summary
Masters degree and over 12 years of classroom teaching experience. I am looking for a part time opportunity to utilize my skills as a veteran physics/ science teacher. I am skilled in creating a stimulating, hands-on, technology rich learning environment. I have taught all levels of physics from conceptual to AP C, advanced Chemistry courses and all levels of mathematics. With my teaching experience and my background in instructional technology, I feel I am a strong candidate for the position.
Teaching Style
I use a variety of teaching techniques to help my students apply the fundamental concepts and theories learned in the classroom to everyday life. My main goal is to encourage independent thinking and analytical reasoning to promote high order thinking skills, not just memorization. By using the techniques described, I create a logical thinker that emphasizes teamwork. Although I always stress mastery of the information, I also stress the application of the knowledge. As I stated in my opening paragraph, I use the latest state-of-the-art technologies to aid me in my quest. I believe “seeing is believing” and I use virtual learning spaces and learning management systems to achieve this goal.
