Experience Summary
I have always had a strong passion for learning and teaching physics. As a teacher I have more than 5 years of experience – being a TA at University of Illinois I taught physics courses to college students and was awarded with a departmental award of “Excellence in Teaching”. At the same time I had been tutoring college students in intro level physics. Additionally, as a high school student I received college-level physics education from one of the best physics programs in Ukraine, resulting in achieving the first place in the prestigious all-Ukrainian physics Olympiad.
Teaching Style
Based on my experiences as both a student and a teacher I believe the most important, as well as the most difficult task of a physics teacher is to motivate students to learn physics, to cultivate interest and even enthusiasm in the subject matter. Achieving this goal requires a teacher to have understanding of the social and cultural diversity of the students, interpersonal skills, technical expertise, and, above all, enthusiasm for physics and the craft of teaching.
