Experience Summary
Biology and the life sciences are as interesting to me now as when I was in the fifth grade. My education is in microbiology which I have applied in the agrigricultural industry, diabetes research, and pharmaceutical diagnostics. I have been teaching biology and biotechnology classes for the past seven years in communty college and high school. My best asset as a teacher is finding a way to make the material interesting and relevant to my students.
Teaching Style
As a teacher, I strive to motivate students and to encourage their desire to learn so they may ascertain their strengths and abilities. Encouraging and promoting the desire to learn – a natural gift of our childhood – is the keystone to achieving academic excellence, confidence, and creative problem-solving skills. I provide a stimulating learning environment that encourages students to trust their own opinions and foster confidence. My work experience combined with my instructional ability allows me to bring a broader perspective to the classroom, emphasizing the applicability of material learned.
