Experience Summary
As an analytical chemist, I have been exposed to teaching and learning chemistry in both the research area and in the teaching section. As a graduate student I taught general chemistry at undergraduate levels in both the laboratory and the lecture rooms. I have also gained experience from the University of Dubuqe, IA where I taught undergraduate students general chemistry. I held after class help sessions to help students through the difficulties they had in class. In addition, I have also tutored high school students after school with their exam preparation, homework problems and other chemistry related questions.
Teaching Style
Learning chemistry comes with pratice and I have helped students in the past with their weaknesses. I have conducte group studies for college students from the same the same lecture group to help them with their questions. I have also helped and guided students on a individual basis. My goal is to help the student understand the concept of chemistry he or she is having problems with. Most of the times I will help them solve problems from their text book or problems assigned by the teacher in class. I will also help the student understand the definition or concept he or she is having difficulty with. Knowing that each student works or learns differently, I work as much with the student to get them to their goals.
