Experience Summary
My career choices have always been focused on helping others achieve their goals. Whether in health, life skills, or elementary education, I believe that you must first learn HOW to learn before you can become an independent learner. I have a bachelor's degree in Psychology, a master's degree in Administrative Leadership (with a focus on Adult Education), and a master's degree in Teaching (focused on Elementary Education).
My elementary teaching has been with grades two and three. My work with adults has been teaching them basic reading and writing skills.
Teaching Style
I enjoy working with emergent learners, the ones who are either at a very basic level, or just beginning to become independent students. I strongly believe in teaching a student how to become a questioning, thinking student. Just memorizing is not a lasting skill for a student who intends to progress beyond basic levels in any area. A good student is one who learns how to build upon the basics to achieve higher goals. I give my students the tools with which they can achieve their goals.
