Experience Summary
I have two years of experience teaching adults in college-level and public adult education settings. Additionally, I have about 3 years of experience working with children from infancy to adolescence and was a lead after-school teacher.
My professional business background, entrepreneurial spirit and freelance writing career have aided in the practical development of my English, grammar, financial planning, customer service, sales and marketing skills.
Teaching Style
Teaching is a facilitating process. I believe it is my job to aide the student in developing a more solid understanding of the coursework in front of them. This may involve explaining the same concept to the child in a variety of ways to help them understand. The child may also just require a patient instructor who is willing to keep practicing until they have reached the mastery stage of learning.
Whatever the case may be, a high level of patience, understanding and gentle persistence is necessary in order for the child to feel as though they are making progress and not get discouraged.
