Experience Summary
Having a biology and pre-veterinary science undergraduate degree, and now a master’s degree in marine science, I have a great foundation to tutor students in math and science. I have always had strong math skills and can tutor in algebra, calculus, and geometry. I have taught 2nd through 12th grade in an informal setting as a science educator at the Newark Museum in NJ and at the graduate level as a teaching assistant at my marine science institution. During high school, I tutored a foreign student in English and math, and tutored other younger students in an after-school program, helping them with their homework.
Teaching Style
I enjoy helping students develop an understanding of material. I prefer asking questions to engage students to think about the subject at hand. I work to assure that all questions are addressed and the student feels comfortable with the subject. I will assure the student comprehends concepts and will work through problems together with the student.
