Experience Summary
My experiences as a home school instructor for my children at the secondary level of education, as a personal tutor for SAT and GRE test preparation, and as a teaching assistant at the university level have provided me with the requisite skills to assist students at various levels of education. In addition to preparing and presenting a full curriculum (including, music, art and foreign language) for my children over a period of four years, I also have two years experience tutoring in basic grammar and writing skills and library research techniques to university students.
Teaching Style
My teaching style, derived from a one on one approach as both a home tutor and teaching assistant, is simple: provide an open environment in which pupils feel free to ask any question. The most important aspects of tutoring are positive reinforcement, repetition, and assisting students as they develop confidence and learn to grasp and utilize the skills necessary to their academic and personal development. I feel that my personal education and tutoring experience is perfectly suited to developing a rapport with students while maintaining a professional teacher/pupil relationship.
