Experience Summary
I hold a middle school integrated curriculum certification. I am currently teaching 7th grade math, but have previously taught middle school social studies and science. Prior to beginning my teaching career I was the manager of my family's restaurant business, where I was in charge of training new employees about the computer system and the menu items. At the end of college I was a Teachers Assistant for a freshman level Political Science class which was taught by the head of the department at the university.
Teaching Style
I try to keep students very active in my classroom. I vary my instruction between direct instruction, hands on learning and cooperative activities. I have completed the week long training on cooperative learning at the Kagan Summer Institute. We use cooperative activities in my class daily. I have also completed Quality Schools Training with the Lee County School District. Therefore, I understand the importance of a data driven approach to teaching students. I am very active in my school. I am the chair if the rewards committee, head of my team, the girls volleyball coach, and the faculty advisor of the spirit club.
