Experience Summary
As an African, I know the value and importance of education. I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree program in Public Policy Administration, with a tentative completion date of 2010. For more than seven years, I taught in the Florida and Georgia Public School Systems as a Substitute Teacher, helping students to prepare for future educational and career opportunities. As an employee of GTE (now Verizon), I became the Chairman, Career Development Committee because I wanted to make sure that lower-level employees took advantage of opportunities to improve their academic qualifications. Finally, as a manager for companies, I trained and mentored sales and marketing professionals.
Teaching Style
I like to describe my style of teaching as transformational because my students are allowed to think and be creative, and challenged. I believe that all children are smart and unique; therefore, they need to be encouraged to reach and tap into their potentials. I am always available to help any child reach their academic goals. I strive to make a difference in all of my students' lives because I like to develop long-term relationships with people.
