Experience Summary
I have extensive experience teaching students in grades 2-12 (and college) in both the classroom and one-on-one settings. I have worked for several nationwide education companies, including Kaplan, Huntington, and C2 — I am very familiar with their methods, and I have incorporated the best of what they have to offer into my teaching style. I graduated with a degree both in science and liberal arts, so I am qualified to teach most subjects at the 2-12 level, including language arts, advanced math, and science. I also have lots of experience in SAT/ACT prep, which I enjoy very much! Lastly, I have spent considerable time teaching special needs students, so I am comfortable with meeting different needs and different learning styles.
Teaching Style
Teaching is a passion of mine and a joy. I have had a diverse range of students, each with different needs and approaches to learning. Over time I have gained a better understanding of how to work with each student and use their particular strengths to get the best results. Unfortunately some students slip through the cracks of our educational system, but I really believe that each one is capable of learning and improving if they are given the right kind of attention. Overall, I would say I am a real believer in interactive learning and in engaging students through their unique interests and strengths. Every student presents me with a special opportunity, and I always hope that I can impact their lives in a positive way.
