Experience Summary
I graduated from the University of South Florida in 2005 with Honors. I am certified in Elementary (K-6) and Second Level (6-12) World Language Education(Spanish)by the State of Florida. I have taught Spanish at the high school level for four years; however, I do have experience teaching middle school students as well as elementary students. Being devoted to working with students and their families, in and out of class, confirms that I have made the correct career choice for myself. I have worked with children as a daycare instructor, camp counselor, school teacher, and as a coach. I enjoy working with children of all ages and will continue to strive to be a positive influence in their lives.
Teaching Style
Through my teaching experience thus far, I found that students learn a language best when they actively participate in lessons that have high interest and are meaningful to them. In order to acquire a new language, students need to be surrounded by the language, as they were by their first language. I believe in having a low anxiety level teaching environment for the reason that it encourages students to take risks as they experience more language learning. I strive to lay a firm foundation of a good study habits, solid interpersonal skills, and thoughtful leadership traits that will guide and support my students throughout their lives.
