Experience Summary
I graduated from FAU's Ocean Engineering program a year early and also completed my math minor as well as the University Scholars Program.
I have tutored college students and high school students alike, independently and under Mangrove tutoring. I primarily taught mathematics, (any level from Algebra to Calculus III and differential equations) physics, and classes with which physics and calculus are the basis. I also speak fluent Spanish have taught English in Costa Rica, and Spanish to Americans in Costa Rica. I really have a passion for the aforementioned subjects and love to teach. It's a wonderful feeling to see a student grasp a subject he/she previously did not and advance in their education.
Teaching Style
I like teaching all ages, they all have something to offer and require a different style. I am very patient and like to teach through the basics. I myself don't rely on memorizing formulas, that gets you no where, but understanding the fundamentals behind the formulas is where to gain knowledge. I feel it's very important to explain why things are the way they are as opposed to stating "that's that" and moving on since it's so important to understand the background. As a whole i would say my teaching style is to focus on the fundamentals and background which allows a full grasp of concepts and a subsequent advancement in education.
