Experience Summary
I have experience teaching developmentally disabled adults how to read as well as art therapy. I am currently a tutor for the Sarasota School District and am level II pre-screened. As a graduate in the field of Liberal Arts, Arts and Letters, I have studied a wide array of subjects. I am comfortable tutoring children (as I do now 1-5) as well as young adults or adults preparing for the GED or SAT. I excel in all subject areas, however I have no experience in trigonometry or calculus. I have studied fine arts, humanities, biology, creative writing (have written two soon to be published books) as well as statistics and I speak fluent Spanish.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is associative. I believe in visual cues as well as personal associations/visualization in order to learn and remember material. I possess excellent study habits that I believe I could convey/transfer to students. I find teaching children to be very rewarding. I am very patient and respectful of the student as well as a great listener. I understand the importance of giving the children the right tools of knowledge to work with so that they may learn and grow in their experiences. I strive to uphold the standards of excellence in teaching and am always looking to grow and learn in my experiences.
