Along with classroom teaching, I often worked after school and in the summers as a one-on-one tutor in reading and math. I am a student volunteer with the Boy's and Girl's Club of America and am on the Foster Care Review Board.
Teaching Style
It is the responsibility of a teacher to meet every child's ability level and learning style and to making learning fun. I try to reach the child's full potential through art, music, games and activities, at the same time, nurturing self esteem. I also think it is very important for a teacher to encourage higher-level learning in young children.
I pride myself in the ability to communicate effectively with parents and to encourage a parent- teacher partnership. Only through parent, teacher and child relationships will ultimate learning take place .
