Experience Summary
As a graduate on December 13th, I have learned more about being a teacher than I ever could have dreamed. My professors, mentors, peers, and most important, students have taught me how to be a great teacher. I have been through three internships in the elementary classroom, coached gymnastics for three years, and tutored for one year. Each experience has taught me that students learn in many different ways and it's up to me to find that unique way they learn.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is all about the children that I am teaching. They lead me to be the teacher they need to help them learn. I like to think that my basics are lead by good classroom management techniques, cooperative learning strategies, and positive behavior support systems. The students will determine what the best techniques will work and I will adapt to their needs. I like to teach through exploration and lots of hands on activities. A lot of the activities will be data driven by the students performance on previous activities or pretests and post tests. No matter what road I take to teach my students, I will do my best to teach in a way that my students will learn.
