Experience Summary
Growing up, I never thought that I would want to be a teacher. After taking a job as a Childcare Counselor with the YMCA, I realized the I was meant to teach and work with children. I have been working with the YMCA for close to three years.
I graduated from Manatee Community College with my Associate’s degree in May of 2009. I am currently attending the University of South Florida in Sarasota to receive my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education.
I have also been a tutor for various English Language Learners over the past two years. This is truly my passion, and I am considering getting my master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages after I get my bachelor’s degree.
Teaching Style
I wholeheartedly believe in the power of education. I believe that education is the key to our freedom in life. I hope to teach this philosophy to my students.
As a teacher, I would describe myself as laid-back and patient. I have found that my patience is what helps me in helping students comprehend the information they are learning. I teach to every learning style and intelligence. I believe all children can learn much more than we expect of them, they just have to be taught the way they learn. Diversity is what makes our world go around, and that is what I teach to my students.
