Experience Summary
I have experience as a resource teacher with the Homeless Education and Literacy Project within the Hillsborough County Public Schools system. Most recently I taught third grade at a private school with students with learning disabilities. I have experience working with multiple age groups and with various learning disabilities. I have trained as a district reading coach and in the Lindamood-Bell reading program. I have also helped hire and supervise other tutors, communicated with parents, compiled and filed district and state level data critical to the continued success of the program, and have worked with many different area staff within the public school system.
Teaching Style
I enjoy using learning centers and small groups in order to reach all types of learning styles for my students. I like to incorporate holiday and theme ideas across the curriculum. I believe strongly in cooperative learning so students learn from one another and build a sense of community.
