Experience Summary
I am currently in my fourth year of teaching at the high school level and I love it! I enjoy teaching the students and I am very pleased when they are excited by their own success. I have a BS is Psychology, which enables me to better understand student behavior and motivation. I currently teach Math and Science. I am strongest in Algebra 1, Geometry, Biology and Earth Science. I am willing to tutor middle school and high school students in math and science.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is very straigt forward. First, I determine what the student already knows about the topic. Next, I use direct instruction to relay the material to the student. I teach the student exactly what they need to know...there is no guess work involved. After direct instruction, the student will practice a few questions with my assistance. Finally, the student will complete some more questions on their own. We will review the assignment and correct any missed items.
