Experience Summary
I worked for as a teacher in a New York city high school for 10 years and as Assistant Principal of Mathematics for 15 years. I've now retired and moved to North Port. During the early onset of my teaching career I tutored privately at my home many students ranging from grade 3 to college math.
Although my plan was not to work anymore, I find myself working as an adjunct instructor at the local communtiy college where I live. I once again, find myself tutoring privately in my home, students who come to me for help. I am very familiar with the SES program, I supervised the program at my last school in Brooklyn and understand the stakes and what the needed outcomes should be.
Teaching Style
My teaching style varied depending on the students abilities in my classes. When whole group or direct instruction was needed, I utilized it; if hands-on instruction was needed, I utilized that strategy. I am a firm believer that using a multi-sensory approach is the way to go in any instrucitonal program. Since all children learn differently, then the use of different modalities to deliver instruction will benefit more children. Most of all, patience is required. Because no matter what strategy and mode of instruction used, patience and guidance is needed for the child to achieve to his potential
