Experience Summary
As a professional educator I have taught for over 20+ years at all levels including the college level, I have learned to look for the very best in students and to encourage them to reach their fullest potential. I have earned a bachelor's degree in History with a minor in English and Art, a master's and a doctorate degree in educational leadership specializing in instruction, curriculum and instructional design. I am licensed by the State of Florida in history, English, English for Speakers of Other Languages, Social Studies and Administration. In addition, I have tutored students in English, social studies, SAT and ACT prep and have taught online for the last 7 years.
Teaching Style
I have dedicated my life to working with children from kindergarten to the college level. It is my belief that all students can learn if provided the tools to do so. The key to their learning is embedded in the way in which their specific learning needs are met. I believe in active participation by students through the use of hands on activities that allow for discovery and a constructive approach to learning. I am very easy going and patient but at the same time expect and encourage students to reach their fullest potential and to utilize what they have learned to critical think and apply what they have learned in new and different situations. I want students to seek their very best.
