Experience Summary
I earned my BS in Education degree in 1970 but chose to enter the field of law enforcement. I remained the the field of law enforcement for 10 years and then began teaching. The skills and experiences in law enforcement have given be a strong base to draw upon for teaching Civics and History. I taught American history and American Government four years at John I Leonard HS in Lake Worth, FL.. I have tutored homebound students at their home and libraries. My teaching methods have always strived to expect more from students so they may have a better chance of excelling with their efforts. My desire to teach remains within me as well as my caring attitude toward each indvidual student.
Teaching Style
I have always enjoyed allowing students to have a variety of learning methods presented to them. I have utilized group projects, individual projects. Class room activities such as mock trials and guest speakers from areas peprtinant to our class room topic. I utilize the school district reuired texts for a foundation or break away point to facilitae an expantion with special interest topics and projects. It is my objective to touch upon the skills, knowledge and learning style of each student. I have found my personal joy comes from making a difference in each student's life.
