Experience Summary
For the past two years I have worked for the City of Gainesville as a Recreation Aide I. The primary function of this position was to run an After School program for elementary students at one of the City's recreation centers. A central element to the program was tutoring services for the children conducted by the staff and university volunteers. Not only did I serve as a tutor, but I also helped formulate guidelines for the volunteer tutors and educational programming for the group as a whole.
Teaching Style
I believe that my teaching style can be described as a patient mentor that is eager to share knowledge and provide a broad understanding of the importance of the material at hand. I am open to all different kinds of learning and enjoy working with different types of personalities. I am consciously aware that children are the future and hope to influence them in positive ways. In addition, I am also open to tutoring adults in a broad range of subjects including computer skills, business concepts, and the social sciences.
